3. Court
  • If you have been charged with a criminal offence you will be obliged to attend court as directed on your release and continue to attend as directed by a judge.

  • If the offence occurred while you are a Young Offender, court will take place in Youth Court before the presiding Youth Court Judge.

  • In court you will be required to have a lawyer. Court is complicated and you have certain rights. Your lawyer is present to ensure you understand the process and the decisions that are being made. Generally speaking, most judges in Ontario Youth Courts will only proceed with your matter if a lawyer represents you.
